About the Professor
Professor Liu is a faculty member at a flagship university in New Jersey, specializing in powerful hardware resources, e.g., Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), and Solid-State Drive (SSD), to build high-performance systems for graph analytics, machine learning, and numerical methods.
A distinguished researcher, Professor Liu has been honored with the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award, which supports young faculty members who demonstrate exceptional potential in research and academia. In 2022, he also received the prestigious IEEE CS TCHPC Early Career Researchers Award for Excellence in High Performance Computing.
Professor Liu has a strong track record of guiding students to success. Under his guidance, his student team won 3rd place at the 2022 Ansary Entrepreneurship Competition (Senior Design) and secured the championship title in the AWS/MIT GraphChallenge Competition in both 2018 and 2019. His research efforts have been supported by over $9 million in federal grants. In addition to his academic accomplishments, Professor Liu is deeply committed to mentoring high school students in research, helping them explore advanced topic
